Oil rigs, also known as oil platforms, are complex structures designed and built to extract oil from the ground and store it temporarily. Many oil rigs today are located offshore. They come in many sizes and configurations and may be fixed permanently to the ocean floor, or they may float. Some of the floating oil rigs are the largest moveable structures on earth. As oil exploration around the world becomes more focused on offshore fields, the number of offshore oil rigs will continue to increase.

In this ultra-competitive job market, candidates are clamouring over each other for executive positions. Recent reports show that both permanent and interim management jobs are being filled as quickly as the vacancies are being created.

Yet there are undercurrents of dissatisfaction bubbling away in some organisations over the hiring of temporary management, with some employees viewing it as the squandering of limited company funds. Employees should have a right to question the spending of company money. Simply put, why would you hire an interim manager over a permanent one?

Cover Letter Etiquette and Guide

Posted by | August 11, 2011 | Articles

There are no exceptions to the rule. If you are sending out a resume, you have to include a short, but detailed cover letter. It needs to be treated with the same amount of thoughtfulness, as your resume. If you don’t follow this rule, you will be making a critical mistake!
There are three major types of cover letters. The application letter is a response to an advertized job posting. A prospecting letter inquires about possible positions and a networking notice will request information, and possibly, assistance in a job search.
It should be obvious that an effective cover letter will state the reasons why a job seeker is submitting a resume, the qualifications that are being offered, and an indication as to where he or she learned of the position. Also mentioned in this write-up is the job title, and an identification or reference number, if applicable.

Things to consider when advertising your call centre jobs

Posted by | August 11, 2011 | Articles

Call centre jobs can often have quite a high turnover of staff. Whilst unfortunate for those in charge of hiring new staff, calling floors packed to the rafters - sometimes with hundreds of operatives - makes for little surprise that the workforce is often a fluid one.

Because of this high turnover, call centres have to advertise for new staff on a regular basis, so there are certainly some things to consider when looking for a new brace of operatives to take on.

People often assimilate call centre work with cold calling people at all times of the day and night to offer them double glazing or a different electricity provider. Despite the fact that this often could not be further from the truth, it can serve to dissuade people from the job.

Land That Job

Posted by | August 11, 2011 | Articles

As more and more Australians are finding themselves out of work, the competition for available employment opportunities is becoming fierce. Many people have been steadily employed for such a long time, that modern day job searching is unfamiliar territory. Historically, an unemployed individual could buy a few newspapers, visit the local unemployment office, and find themselves re-employed relatively quickly. With the current economy in such turmoil, however, that scenario just isn’t so.
The internet has opened many doors for companies with employment opportunities. Not only can companies post available positions, they can search resume databases for applicants who match the skills and experience levels they’re looking for. Individuals are benefiting from the use of the internet as well.

How to Prepare for Job Interviews

Posted by | August 11, 2011 | Articles

There is nothing more heartbreaking than finding the perfect job option but then struggling through the interview process. Having a great resume helps a lot, but if a person is unable to sound qualified during the interview process there is a good chance they will not get the job. There are some simple steps that can be taken to succeed during the process.

The most important thing to do is make sure to research the company that is interviewing. This way it will be easy to understand what the company does, what qualities they look for in workers, what type of challenges the industry faces, and things of that nature. By doing this people will have an idea about what questions might be asked and can answer them by matching personal qualities they possess with productive answers.

Besides knowing what the company does and needs from workers, make sure to let the interviewer know how the qualities you possess can benefit them. If possible use specific examples from past work history that showcase positive attributes. Also make sure that you dress the part and look like you should when getting hired. First impressions mean a lot when one interview might decide your job future.
