Job Description
Healthcare Australia is looking to recruit Consultants in Psychiatry (specialising in Child & Adolescence) based in Western Australia.
Salary depends on experience but will range from $200,000 to $400,000 AUD.
Healthcare Australia will provide full support in the application and relocation process.
The Consultants must be able to provide the full range of Psychiatric assessment services necessary to meet the needs of patients under the care of the unit/s patient remit. The working week will comprise 40-50 hours including an on-call commitment to meet the requirements of the unit/s.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Post
- To carry out necessary duties to ensure the best and most cost effective treatment of patients.
- To provide a full range of specialist diagnosis, treatment and care to patients who require assessment services and ensure care which is responsive to patient needs and to changes in workload.
- To partake in the on-call rota and to provide cross-cover for Consultant colleagues during their absence.
- To provide first line senior clinical support to the junior staff, both within normal working hours and as part of the on-call rota
- To undertake all necessary administrative duties associated with the care of his/her patients, including but not limited to clinical coding, discharge summaries, letters and reports
- To participate in the Centres audit and clinical governance programme.
- To contribute to the development of Clinical Quality Standards.
- To contribute to the planning and development of psychiatric services.
- To contribute to the teaching of Centre staff.
Requirements:
- Excellent clinical experience.
- Ability to take full and independent responsibility for the clinical care of patients.
- Ability to form constructive and effective professional relationships with existing consultants and staff.
- Ability to work within a multi-cultural environment.
- Ability to communicate well with patients and staff, both orally and in writing.
